NETHERLANDS LEGATION,
His Excelleney
My Lord,
LONDON.
June 8th, 1921.
I have the honour to inform your Lordship
that, according to the statement of the manager of
the Netherland Trading Society at Hongkong, which
is a banking institution of Netherland nationality,
there are still owing to his bank the following sums
by the estates of German firms which were wound up
by order of the Colonial Government:
Messrs. Carlowitz & Co.
Messrs. Siemesen & Co.
$1935.96
$ 955.93
$2614.39
Messrs. Wendt & 00.
The manager further states that, although
other banks have been compensated by the Custodian of
Enemy Property at Hongkong for all moneys due to them
by liquidated German firms, his applications to be
similarly treated have so far had no result.
In accordance with instructions received I
venture to request your Lordship to be good enough to
call the attention of the competent department of the
British Government to the matter in order to obtain
that the Netherland bank referred to may receive the
seme treatment in Hongkong as British banks, as in
Netherland Colonies British banks are placed on the
same /
